Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf business evicted after rent increase

Balesteri’s is being evicted from the space it rents on Monterey’s Old Fisherman’s Wharf and cannot sell anything after Wednesday.

The owners say it’s been a family business for three generations but they can’t afford to pay new lease proposed by the City of Monterey.

Now, other businesses on wharf worry they could be next. KION’s Brandon Castillo speaks with city leaders to find out the details.
