Major contruction project begins on Freedom Blvd. in Watsonville

A major re-construction project starts Tuesday on Freedom Boulevard between Broadis Street and Alta Vista Avenue in Watsonville.

It is one of the busiest streets in town and city leaders said they are concerned about traffic while construction is going on.

The multi-million dollar project will pay for sidewalk repairs, pavement improvements, new curb ramps and should take about four months to complete.

Detours are in place around the construction. KION’s Brandon Castillo gets all of the details from the city and speaks with local businesses about the impact on them.
