Monterey County Board of Supervisors looking to help Soberanes Fire victims

Monterey County Board of Supervisors will focus on re-growth at their meeting Tuesday morning. The Soberanes Fire has burned more than 86,000 acres and destroyed 57 homes and 11 outbuildings, damaging five other structures. Despite being far from over, re-building after the fire will be one important topic at the Monterey County Board of Supervisors meeting.

The board will be looking to adopt a fire recovery guidelines resolution. According to the agenda, this would support the processing of permits for the rebuilding of structures destroyed or damaged by fire for a 5-year period with the option of extending to 2026. The meeting is at 9:00 A.M. at the Monterey County Government Center, 168 West Alisal Street in Salinas.
