Racing kicks off for Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion

More than 500 race cars are taking to the track and on display at the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Everything from a 1911 National to a 2001 Porshe wowed spectators.

Cars are being raced based on their era and horsepower, offering spectators a look at unique automobiles and rich history.

“It’s a chance for all the fans to come out, see some of the cars they saw when they were kids,” said David Hart with the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. “See some of the cars they only saw in books and magazines from yesteryear. They actually get to see them out here doing exactly what they were built to do which is get on a race track and go fast.”

The races kick off again this Sunday.
