Firefighters prepare for another day on the Soberanes Fire

Firefighters are getting ready for another day on the Soberanes Fire.

As of Tuesday morning, the Soberanes Fire had burned 43,400acres and was 18% contained. Cal Fire said the flames continue to burn in steep, rugged and inaccessible terrain. Fifty-seven homes have been destroyed. Two new bases — one at the Rancho Canada golf club, and another Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park — have opened in addition to the Toro Park command center.
