Cachagua and Tassajara evacuation orders and warnings issued

UPDATE 7/31/2016 4:15 PM: Cal Fire has changed the evacuation warning to an order for all residents in the following areas:

Cachagua Rd. from the intersection of Cachagua Rd at Nason Rd. extending to the intersection of Cachagua Rd. at Tassajara Rd.
Tassajara Rd. at the intersection of E. Carmel Valley Road and Tassajara Rd. extending approximately 17 miles to the end of Tassajara Rd. at the Tassajara Hot Springs Zen Center.

This includes all roads that lead from the above described roads. This area includes Nason Rd.

Evacuations warnings remain in place for all other areas.

PREVIOUS STORY: Monterey County Sheriff’s Department has issued an evacuation warning for portions of Cachagua and Tassajara areas.

The warning includes all areas south of the intersection of E. Carmel Valley Rd. at San Clemente Dr. and extending to the intersection of E. Carmel Valley Rd. at Tassajara Rd. All residences along Tassajara Rd. from the intersection of Tassajara Rd. at E. Carmel Valley Rd. and extending approximately 17 miles to the end of Tassajara Rd. at the Tassajara Hot Springs Zen Center.

The evacuation warning comes as the fire grew to more than 38,000 acres overnight. It remains 15% contained.

All residents are asked to be ready to evacuate at any moment.
