Central Coast high school makes Newsweek’s top 500 list

Scotts Valley High School landed on Newsweek’s annual list of top high schools in the U.S.

Newsweek says it uses a broad range of data to find out which schools do the best job preparing its students for college.

Scotts Valley High School in Santa Cruz County, which serves 850 students, ranked #246. Newsweek lists its college readiness score 78.8, its graduate rate at 98.2 with 98.1 college bound.

The top spot went to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Virginia.
