Man shot and killed in Salinas, 23rd homicide of the year

Salinas police confirm they are investigating a homicide in the 600 block of St. George Drive.

Police say the victim is a Hispanic man in his twenties who died on scene. The suspect was seen running into a car that was waiting nearby. Investigators are interviewing witnesses.

Police believe its gang related, but it is too early to tell if it related to yesterday’s homicide.

This is the 23rd homicide of the year in Salinas.
