Two arrested in Watsonville for DUI and illegal possession of a gun

Two men are behind bars after a traffic stop on Sunday night.

Watsonville police spotted a car driving without headlights on just before 11:00 p.m. in the 1100 block of Main Street.

After approaching the car, the officer immediately noticed several open containers of alcohol.

The driver was arrested for DUI and two passengers were cited for the open containers.

A passenger identified as 18-year-old Ivan Ruelas was also arrested for having a loaded, concealed pistol in his waistband.
