Hollister driver dies after failing to stop

A Hollister man is dead after running a stop sign and crashing into another car on Highway 156 in San Juan Bautista Monday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened just before 9:00 p.m. when a driver traveling southbound on Lucy Brown Road ran a stop sign and entered Highway 156, into the path of a 2007 Chevrolet driven by a 19-year-old driver from Hollister.

The name of the driver who was killed has not been released. Officers said he was not wearing a seat belt. He was ejected from his car and died on scene.
