Aptos burglary ends in car crash in Watsonville

An overnight burglary ended with a car crash in Watsonville.

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office says it all started around 11:00 p.m. Monday night in the 700-block of Seacliff Drive in Aptos. That is where Isaiah Zepeda stole a bike out of a garage in the area and drove away in a stolen car.

Deputies then found Zepeda trapped in that car, down an embankment on Barrett Drive and Mar Monte Avenue in Watsonville.

Crews were able to rescue Zepeda, then transported him to a local hospital. He will face charges once he recovers.
