Carmel Valley man arrested on child pornography charges

A Carmel Valley man is free on bail after being arrested on child pornography charges.

Eric Dennis Norrby, 49, was taken into custody July 1, booked into Monterey County Jail and released the same day, after posting $40,000 bail.

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office says it received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that online accounts registered to Norrby were being used to download and share child pornography.

With assistance from the Silicon Valley Crimes Against Children Task Force, they served a warrant at his Carmel Valley home. A Sheriff’s spokesman says child pornography was playing on his computer at the time of his arrest.

Norrby is due in court on July 12, 2016.
