Overturned truck snarls traffic on 101 near Gonzales

UPDATE: 7/5/16 9:45 AM: A cement truck overturned on Highway 101 just north of Alta Road near Gonzales Tuesday morning.

California Highway Patrol said the truck was rear ended by another car, the driver lost control and the truck tipped over. Both drivers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

About five gallons of cement spilled on the side of the road but CHP says it was cleaned up.

The accident forced lane closures and a SIG Alert was issued just after 7 a.m..

Both lanes re-opened by 8:15AM.

ORIGINAL STORY: An accident on Highway 101 near Gonzales Tuesday morning forced lane closures, according to California Highway Patrol.

Officers said the incident involved an overturned cement truck.

A SIG Alert was issued just after 7 a.m.
