Central Coast shooting suspect arrested in Wisconsin

A King City man suspected of attempted murder is in police custody in Wisconsin and awaiting extradition to Monterey County, according to King City Police.

Brian Zuniga, 20, had been on the run since June 9, 2015 when he was identified as the suspect in the shooting of a man in King City.

On July 1, Zuniga was stopped in Elkhorn, WI for a minor traffic violation. Deputies say he provided a false name and sped off, leading them on a high speed chase that reached speeds of nearly 100 mph.

He was eventually captured, and will be returned to Monterey County, where he will face charges of attempted murder.
