Arrests up during Hollister motorcycle rally

A report from the Hollister Police Department shows there were 46 arrests during the three-day Independence Day motorcycle rally, a 43 percent increase over the previous year. Most of the arrests were for public intoxication, narcotics, weapons and driving under the influence.

Overall calls for service dropped 15 percent from last year, but officers responded to 56 crime reports, 16 more than in 2015.
