Teen shot as he was walking home in Salinas

A 17-year-old is recovering after being shot in East Salinas.

According to the Salinas Police Department, it happened as the teen was walking home on Paseo Grande Drive at 3:09 p.m. Friday.

A red pickup truck pulled up next to the teen and a man wearing dark clothing got out and shot the victim.

The teen was taken to Natividad Medical Center. He is expected to be okay.

Anyone with information is urged to call Salinas Police.
