Pop superstar Prince is dead

Pop music superstar Princehas died.He was 57.

According to his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, the singer’s body was discovered at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early Thursday morning, April 21st.

The singer, whose full name is Prince Rogers Nelson, had a medical emergency on April 15th that forced his private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois. His representatives said the singer was battling the flu.

In recent months, Prince had cancelled two shows due to health concerns, but continued to make occasional public appearances, including a Golden State Warriors game in March.

Prince became an international superstar in 1982 after his breakthrough album “1999.” During his career, he racked up seven Grammys headlined the Super Bowl halftime show in 2007.
