UPDATE: Police say Seaside woman died after apparent brutal attack

UPDATE 4/15/16 4:22 AM: Seaside police have identified the victim as 42-year-old Ngoc Hong Nguyen.

Officers responded to reports of an injured female in the 1600 block of Kenneth Street around noon on Thursday.

When they arrived, they found Nguyen appeared to be the victim of a brutal attack. She died at the scene.

Police confirm they had a person in custody, but the subject was questioned and later released.
