Places to eat are finally coming to the popular Dunes Shopping Center

At least nine new places to eat are coming to the popular Dunes Shopping Center in Marina after more than a year of planning, according to the site’s developer.

Right now the center has plenty of places to shop including a Best Buy, an R-E-I and a Kohl’s, but besides a couple snack options inside of the Target, there aren’t any places to eat. The new development is meant to solve that problem.

The addition will include nearly ten restaurants like a pizza parlor, a burger joint, deli sandwiches, a teriyaki chicken place and a chipotle… just to name a few.

Developer Scott Negri told KION that the development will give the city of Marina $350,000 annually in tax revenue and will also add to the Dunes’ shopping experience.

“Right now that mom or dad comes and maybe they have their kids with them and their kids can’t last hours and hours. They want food,” said Negri of SKN Properties.

The benefit doesn’t stop with just shoppers, it will likely benefit realtors like Rebecca McCallon too.

“Because Marina is growing we are attracting a lot people from the valley area and from up in the San Jose area,” said McCallon.

The growth is very noticeable in the Dunes area with new homes and even a new hotel. Now add Negri’s new shops and restaurants to list. Something he hopes will be a great benefit to the city of Marina and beyond.

“It will be a very prideful project for us and hopefully something the whole community, not just the city of Marina, can get behind”

Negri said that he hopes that at least three buildings in the new development will be open by the end of the year.
