House Call: Free crime prevention inspections

A volunteer-driven program led by the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is helping people patch up precarious spots in their homes.

Trained volunteers with the Sheriff’s Office will stop by and look for ways to make the home less vulnerable to all sorts of crime: burglary, ID theft, etc.

The program is launching in Aptos. In June, the program will be available throughout all of the unincorporated areas of Santa Cruz County.

KION’s Brandon Castillo is learning more about the program Tuesday. Tune in Tuesday evening for his report.

If you’re interested in scheduling an inspection, contact Sgt. Patrick Dimick atPatrick.Dimick@santacruzcounty.us.
