Suspect at-large after Sunday morning standoff in Salinas

UPDATE: A standoff that involved heavy police presence has ended in north Salinas, with no sign of the suspect, according to Salinas Police.

Police arrived at Amador Circle around 7 a.m. after members of the household called police, saying that their roommate had threatened them.

Authorities say the suspect is 37-year old Rodney Sablan, a known Norteo gang member. They also say Sablan had made several death threats towards other people in the home and also held down a 66-year-old man preventing him from calling police.

Sablan managed to get away between the time police received the phone call and before officers arrived on scene,

Sablan is a parolee wanted for drug charges and gang enhancements.
