6 arrested, 1 wanted, and 13 firearms seized during 3 search warrants

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office arrested 6 people on Saturday while serving three search warrants. Investigators seized 13 illegally possessed firearms as well as ammunition, drug paraphernalia and crystal methamphetamine, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The search warrants were related to a series of thefts and burglaries in Toro Park, according to investigators. Two search warrants were served in Salinas, and the third one was in Prunedale.

During one of the search warrants, a person hit a car with a woman and child inside and then attempted to run down two deputy sheriffs while leaving the scene. The Sheriff’s Office is working on identifying and locating this person.

Of the six arrested, the Sheriff’s Office said several were active gang members.
