Two loaded handguns, AR-15, and 10 pounds of marijuana off Santa Cruz streets

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office said deputies arrested two people from Ohio after finding two loaded handguns in their car and an AR-15 rifle in the trunk with about 10 pounds of marijuana.

The car was wanted after a weapon brandishing incident on Park Avenue in Aptos Tuesday. A detective spotted the car on Portola Drive in Santa Cruz Wednesday and called in backup and K-9 Ari.

The driver, Cole Bowman, 22, and Logan Rocchi, 23, both from Ohio, were arrested for several firearm charges. A passenger, Darren Cocroft, 26, was arrested for several warrants and giving a false name to an officer. Cocroft is a transient from Aptos, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
