Salinas police investigating second shooting on Wednesday

UPDATE 11:10 PM: A 36-year-old man was shot multiple times Wednesday night, according to Salinas Police.

The shooting happened just after 9 p.m. on the 500 block of Mae Avenue. Police tell KION the victim is undergoing surgery.

At this time there is no suspect information.

The shooting comes the same day a teen was shot and killed at Acosta Plaza marking the city’s tenth homicide of the year.

A shooting investigation is underway in Salinas Wednesday night.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired just after 9 p.m on the 500 block of Mae Avenue. One person was taken to the hospital.
