Agustin Palomares wanted again after no-show in court

kion’s monica jacquez joins us with details… monica? palomares was expected to show up for his arraignment today… after bailing out of jail earlier this month…but he never showed up. his attorney says he’s not on the run, this is just a misunderstanding. still, the district attorney’s office says his no-show is alarming to law enforcement officers and several agencies are looking for him. ?trt:1:23outcue::? 4-912-17 wanted… again! after a 38-hour standoff in salinas… agustin palomares is once again in hot water with the law… this time he didn’t show up for court. sara dabkowski, santa cruz county assistant district attorney 21:51 “local law enforcement officers are already aware of the fact that he didn’t come to court today and they are taking steps to locate mr. palomares.”palomares bailed out of the santa cruz county jail on march 8th… but was supposed to be in court for his arraignment on march 16th. his bail was $120-thousand dollars. sara dabkowski, santa cruz county assistant district attorney 24:00 “he has a number of different charges for felony criminal threats, felony stalking, felony for taking or driving someone else’s vehicle without their permission and felony vandalism.”this comes about a month after u-s marshalls, salinas police and several other agencies surrounded a home on cherokee drive.. trying to take him into custody.but after nearly 2 days.. he managed to escape… palomares was eventually found a few days later.. near america’s best value inn in salinas.frank conroy/u.s.marshals service 28:49 “there was a lot of resources that went into it. 30:28 “we had to call in extra reinforcements and extra personnel from other agencies to assist because it was such a long process.”a santa cruz county judge has since issued a bench warrant for his arrest… but while his defense team says he’s not on the run… the district attorney’s office says palomares could face additional charges for not showing up in court. sara dabkowski, santa cruz county assistant district attorney 23:53 “sometimes we add a failure to appear but it depends on the circumstances of why someone didn’t come to court.” today wasn’t the first time palomares missed court since he bailed out of jail… prosecutors told us he was a no-show for a court date in salinas on march 10th monica jacquez kion, your central coast
