UPDATE: Portion of Highway 101 in Salinas closed due to fire

UPDATE 3/15/16 4:29 AM: Officials say all lanes of Highway 101 in Salinas are now open.

PREVIOUS STORY: A portion of Highway 101 in Salinas has been shut down as firefighters work to put out a fire Monday night, according to the Salinas Police Department.

Police said a fire broke out near Griffin and John Streets just before 11p.m.

Officers have closed the number two lane of southbound Highway 101 just before the John Street exit.

Police said at this time no injuries have been reported.
