Beachgoers advised to stay out of the water after the rain

A rain advisory is in effect for all Monterey County Beaches.

The Monterey County Health Department is advising people not to go in the ocean for three days after the last rain event.

It is recommended that people do not swim in or have contact with storm drain water.

Bacteria, viruses, protozoa or chemicals could contaminate storm drain water and may cause illness.
