UPDATE: 31-year-old man wounded in Salinas Chinatown stabbing

UPDATE 3/9/16 12:21 AM: Salinas police say a 31-year-old man was stabbed during a fight near Bridge Street and E. Market Way just before 9:00 p.m. Tuesday night.

He was taken to a local hospital, where he is being treated for potentially life threatening injuries.

The suspect was able to get away, but is described as a Hispanic man with a thin build, wearing dark clothing.

PREVIOUS STORY: The Salinas Police Department is investigating a stabbing Tuesday night.

Police confirmed to KION NewsChannel5 one person was stabbed near Bridge Alley in the Chinatown area just before 9 p.m.

Officers are on scene. The condition of the victim is unknown.
