Monterey makes list for top communities supporting military members

The city of Monterey is getting recognized for its unwavering support to service members and military families.

The Association of Defense Communities and the Defense Communities Caucus recently designated 10 communities across the United States for their support. The program began this year.

Here are the honorees:

• Dayton, Ohio
• Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo.
• Goldsboro, N.C.
• Grand Forks, N.D.
• Lawton, Okla.
• Manhattan, Kan.
• Monterey, Calif.
• Okaloosa County, Fla.
• South Puget Sound, Wash.
