Cal Fire: Largest wildfire in CA, Rocky Fire, fully contained

The once massive Rocky Fire that burned nearly 70,000 acres is fully contained as Friday, according to Cal Fire. This is the largest fire of the year in California.

The fire spread through Lake, Yolo and Colusa counties, burning a total of 69,438 acres since it ignited on July 29.

According to Cal Fire, 43 homes and 53 outbuildings were destroyed. At least eight structures were damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Currently there are 17 active wildfires burning throughout California with at least 13,000 firefighters fighting these fires, Cal Fire officials said.
