Howl For Maddy reaches hearts and minds beyond the Central Coast

As a rare blue moon rises Friday night, the entire Central Coast and beyond will be howling for 8-year-old Madyson Middleton. Middleton was found dead earlier this week after her alleged killer, Adrian Gonzalez, 15, lured her inside his apartment at the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz.

To honor her daughter’s life, Maddy’s mom has invited everyone to Howl For Maddy Friday night during the blue moon. According to the Facebook event, Maddy loved to howl at the moon.

An event was initially going to be held at the Tannery Arts Center, but has since been changed, asking everyone to howl at home from 8:30-8:45 p.m.

The event organizer is asking the public to use #howlformaddy to gather words, pictures and video from people showing their support on social media.

So far, people from all over the country have committed to howling at the moon for Maddy including Lacey, WA, Portland, OR, Fairfax, VA, Surprise, AZ, and Brooklyn, NY.
