UPDATE: Salinas police ID two suspects in armed robbery spree

UPDATE 5/29/2015: Salinas police have identified two of four armed robbery suspects as Oscar Gutierrez an Joey Valdez, both 18-years-old.

Police said the other two victims are juveniles.

Police believe the four suspects were involved in a string of armed robberies Thursday afternoon.

UPDATE 5/28/2015 3:03 p.m.: Salinas police said good descriptions from witnesses lead officers to four armed robbery suspects and two of them are juveniles Thursday afternoon.

Officers believe the four were involved in a string of armed robberies at 1:29 p.m., 1:31 p.m. and at 1:33 p.m. They also said one of the victim’s was a student at North Salinas High School.

Police said a gun was used to steal items like cell phones. They caught up with the suspects at 1:58 p.m., driving a black BMW with lime green dealer plates, near North First and West Alvin, police said.

PREVIOUS STORY: Salinas police are investigating an armed robbery case and multiple suspects are being detained at North First and West Alvin.

This is the second armed robbery suspects caught in the past two days, police said.
