Two people shot at, one hit in Salinas Thursday night

A 20-year-old man was injured in a shooting in Salinas Thursday night.

According to Salinas Police, it happened in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Del Monte Avenue.

Two men shot at a 20-year-old and 21-year-old. The 20-year-old was hit in the abdomen. He was taken to a nearby trauma center, but the injuries don’t appear to be life threatening.

The 21-year-old was not hurt.

The suspects took off in a grey or blue Altima. They drove to a nearby street and one suspect may have entered a white Chevrolet Suburban before both suspects drove away.

Police don’t know the motive for the shooting and don’t know yet if the shooting is gang-related.
