UPDATE: Attempted murder during fight at Salinas party, police say

UPDATE 5/25/2015: Salinas police said the victim for Saturday night’s stabbing at a party is in stable condition but is still ailing.

Officers said he has been admitted to the hospital and will be at there at least several more days.

PREVIOUS STORY: A Hispanic man suffered life-threatening stab wounds Saturday night during a fight that broke out at a party in Salinas, police said.

Salinas Police officers responded to reports of a fight on the 100 block of Orchard Avenue just after 8:30 p.m. Upon arrival, officers found between 50 to 75 people in the street including a 24-year-old man with several stab wounds, police said.

The victim was transported to Natividad Medical Center for surgery, police said. His condition is unknown.

Police said it’s unclear whether the incident is gang-related.
