Culinary Brands recalls over 4,000 pounds of pork

Culinary Brands is recalling approximately 4,038 pounds of pork products due to misbranding and wheat in the product that was undeclared on the label according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The pork product was mistakenly mislabeled and according to at least one customer complaint, may contain the wrong product. A mushroom risotto which contains wheat, is a known allergen which was not declared on the product label.

The Pork Chile Verde product was produced on March 30 and April 2, 2015. The product subject to the recall is depicted in the photo accompanying this story.

Customers should notice a 9-oz. plastic tray of packages labeled “Simply Balanced Pork Chile Verde” bearing lot #A5089G2. These products are subject to the recall and bear the establishment number “EST. 6009” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

These items produced were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products.
