Man riding bike shot and killed in Salinas

Salinas police are looking for multiple suspects after a man riding his bike was shot and killed Saturday night.

Officers responded to a report of a victim of a shooting near West Rossi Street and Powell Street just before midnight. Police said they found Martin Anthony Trujillo, 35, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Trujillo was transported to Natividad Medical Center where he later died, police said.

Police believe Trujillo was shot while riding his bike on West Rossi Street by unknown suspects.

This marks the city’s 11th homicide this year and the second homicide investigation in less than 24 hours, police said.
