Palma High School students cited for allegedly shooting doves

Two Palma High School students were issued citations after a report of rifle shots in the Ambrose Drive neighborhood area, police said.

Officers said two 17-year-old boys were contacted in front of Palma High School where three .177 caliber scoped pellet rifles and one pellet pistol were found inside a pickup truck.

An amount of concentrated cannabis “honey oil” and one dead Eurasian Collared Dove were also found inside the truck, police said.

Officers said Fish and Game were called out to help with the investigation. Police said the boys had been illegally shooting doves within city limits.

Both students were cited and released to their parents. One of the teens was cited for possession of concentrated cannabis.
