Environmental Impact Report released on Peninsula Water Supply Project

The California Public Utilities Commission has released its draft Environmental Impact Report on California American Water’s Peninsula Water Supply Project.

The EIR was released on Thursday, April 30, 2015.

The report examines the proposed project which includes a seawater desalination facility in Marina.

The report marks the beginning of a 60 day public review and comment period.

The first of several public meetings is scheduled for Tuesday, May 26th at 1 p.m. at the Marina Public Library at 188 Seaside Avenue.

The next two meetings will be held on Wednesday, May 27 th at 1:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at the Oldemeyer Center on Hilby Avenue in Seaside.

The last meeting is Thursday, May 28 th at 1:30 p.m. at Sunset Center, Carpenter Hall on San Carlos Street at Ninth Avenue in Carmel.

All formal comments regarding the draft report should be submitted by July 1, 2015.
