Seaside police arrest man wanted for violent sexual assault

Seaside police have arrested a man wanted for a sexually assaulting a woman.

Police said the violent assault happened Tuesday night at the suspect’s home on Soto Street.

Police later found gang member Pedro Pinedo at his home, but he took off on foot.

According to Seaside Police, officers then found Pinedo on Wednesday at his home. Police said Pinedo was hiding under a stack of clothing in a bedroom closet when officers found him and arrested him.

Pinedo is now at the Monterey County Jail facing several felony sexual assault related charges.
