Gilroy Police searching for two women, wanted in homicide investigation

UPDATE 2/18/15 3:26 p.m.: Gilroy detectives said they are looking for two women, wanted as persons of interest in a suspicious death investigation.

Police said the victim, Gilroy resident Robert Joseph Heiser, 56, was found murdered in his home on or about Feb. 16.

They said a preliminary investigation by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office shows foul play is suspected in Heiser’s death.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the two women last seen at businesses in the East San Jose area with property belonging to Heiser.

Detectives said this is the first homicide investigation on the year.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.

PREVIOUS STORY: Gilroy Police officers responded to reports of a “loud noise” at the home on Bay Tree Drive early Monday morning.

When officers arrived at the home just before 3:00a.m. on the 1400 block of Bay Tree Dr., they found a 56-year-old man unconscious.

Gilroy Fire Department medical crews initiated lifesaving efforts on the man, but were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead on scene.

Police say they believe the man lived alone but are still trying to find out more from family members about that and other details of the man’s life, so until more is learned the death is being treated as suspicious.

Homicide detectives are interviewing witnesses and are evaluating a variety of leads.

Anyone with additional information is urged to contact the Investigations Bureau at (408) 846-0350. If you want to remain anonymous, call We-Tip at 1-800-782-7463 (1-800-78-CRIME).
