Couple’s argument ends in King City pot bust, deputies say

Monterey County Sheriff’s Office deputies said an argument between a man and his girlfriend ended with a marijuana grow bust on Thursday.

Deputies said they were called to the home of Brenden Jenks, 29, around 4 a.m. for a domestic disturbance. They said Jenks and his girlfriend were drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana.

After further investigation, they discovered Jenks was allegedly cultivating marijuana. Deputies said they found marijuana plants and processed pot.

Jenks is now in the Monterey County Jail facing multiple charges. The sheriff’s office said Jenks was combative and allegedly left a deputy with minor injuries.
