Drones part of a three-step plan to keep seagulls away

making a mess of the pacific grove experience is about to change! thank you, for joining us. i’m jon brent. seagulls and local businesses are at odds.. and now city leaders say they have the solution. last week we reported that the city is going high tech by using drones to to gather intel on the sea gulls. tonight…news channel 5’s monica jacquez is back from pacific grove… so monica the city has a three step program…to clean up the mess…? business owners are fed up with the seagulls and city leaders are taking every step to make sure the birds stay away from downtown. the program involves high tech gear like drones special trash cans and now birds of prey. *trt: 1:25outcue::* keep it clean 12-17 41-47 58-1:02 ***nats of resturant***when thamin saleh opened up this resturant in pacific grove two years ago… he didn’t realize there were already tenants… ***nats of bird***living on the roof. thamin saleh41:22 “they poop everywhere. the smell of downtown becomes awful. this is a restaurant, i don’t think we should have this smell around.”economic development director mark brodeur agrees.intiating a three step plan to fix the problem.mark brodeur28:23 “the first step is to actually get the nests removed.”***nats of drone***to do that… the city used drones to locate where the nests were. this is video given to us by the city shows the first drone fly over done last week.as you can see many of the nests have already been removed…. but that hasn’t completely solved the issue. monica stand up “the second step in which the city says many businesses have already done is to install locks or doors on their trash cans.”but the last and final step… the city hopes will be the end all…raptors, or birds of prey sent in to intimidate the seagulls.mark brodeur26:27 “so seagulls whenever they see raptors flying anywhere in they area get nervous.”at the end of the
