Highway 1 lane closure announced in Monterey County

One lane will be closed on Highway 1 in Monterey County from 9 a.m. until noon Monday through Thursday.

CalTrans reports that northbound No. 2 lane will be closed just north of the Highway 1/218 onramp to the northbound Fremont Blvd./Del Monte Blvd. offramp.

Transportation managers said the lane closure is to repair and reconstruct a failed highway embankment because of heavy winter rain.
