Two high level drug traffickers busted in Watsonville

The Santa Cruz County Anti-Crime Team or SCCACT and the DEA concluded a month long investigation Wednesday with two big arrests.

The arrests and drugs and cash seized were at two houses on Locust Street and Airport Road.

39-year-old German Alvarado and 28-year-old Hector Vaca were arrested for sales of a controlled substance, transportation of a controlled substance, conspiracy to commit a felony, and possession of a controlled substance.

During the investigation more than a pound of methamphetamine was seized as well as additional drugs and evidence of the transportation and sale of drugs. Officers also found $40,000.

The SCARE task force, CHP, Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office, and the Santa Cruz Police Department assisted in the arrest and search.

During the investigation officers learned that Hector Vaca was arrested in April 2013 in southern California for the transportation of 2 kilos of cocaine and is currently on probation for that case.
