Newscast Director / Videographer – Part Time

KION TV on California’s Central Coast, is currently seeking a part-time weekend / fill-in Newscast Director / Videographer / Editor. The qualified, experienced candidate must be motivated to learn and implement the latest technology, enjoy the fast-paced environment of the newsroom, direct newscasts with ROSS Overdrive automated production control system, non-linear editing, field camera and live truck operation, create graphics and other duties as assigned by supervisor. Must be able to carry up to 50lbs of equipment and be willing to work a variety of shifts if necessary.

Essential Job Duties:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following.

Directing newscasts Editing for newscasts Shooting video in the field Post content to website Create graphics using Adobe Photoshop / Deko

Required Skills / Education / Certification:

1 year News experience preferred Proficient using non-linear editing systems Experienced in a News control room Posses excellent organizational, communication and time management skills
Spanish skills a plus
