4.2 quake strikes Central Coast

You most likely felt the second of two earthquakes on the Central Coast Wednesday night.

The United States Geological Survey says the first earthquake hit at 10:21 p.m. and registered 3.8, a fairly mild temblor. But five minutes later at 10: 26 p.m. a 4.2 magnitude quake struck and it was quite a jolt. But just one jolt.

Calls came into our newsroom of viewers feeling the quake and all reported feeling the second jolt.

Terry Alexander, who lives just over 2 miles from the epicenter, described the second quake as a jolt/bang. She reported no damage but one new renter of Alexander, said she was scared as she never had felt an earthquake before. Welcome to California!

No other reports of damage due to the quake have been reported.
