Final vote count released in Monterey County Sheriff’s race

The Monterey County Registrar of Voters released a final ballot count Wednesday evening.

The Monterey County Sheriff race shows Steve Bernal has 36,312 votes at 52.25% and current Sheriff Scott Miller trails with 33,186 votes at 47.75%.

The county Registrar said the votes should be certified in a couple of days.

NewsChannel 5 interviewed Bernal Monday about what his plans are to transition into office.
