Castroville Thanksgiving Feast needs volunteers

The annual Castroville Thanksgiving Feast is set to feed over 1000 community members, half of which are children. Volunteers will be needed at the Community Center, 11261 Crane Street, the day before and during Thanksgiving Day when the meal is served from 11 am to 2 pm.

The Thanksgiving Feast has been a tradition for over 22 years and was started by the Cava family to help families. The idea was to supply a meal to many who don’t have the means to prepare a holiday meal and for community members who do not want to be alone on Thanksgiving Day.

Monetary donations are needed. If you would like to contribute, please make checks payable to: North Monterey County LULAC and mail to P.O. Box 1359, Castroville, CA 95012.

Volunteers are needed to help fill grocery bags, set-up, bus tables, wash dishes, and clean on Wednesday, 11/26/14 from 12 to 4 pm, and on Thanksgiving Day, 11/27/14 from 10 am to 4 pm. Volunteer shifts for Thanksgiving Day are from; 10 to 12, 12 to 2, and 2 to 4 p.m.

If you would like to volunteer, contact in advance by Monday November 23.
