Traffic alert: Soquel Drive back open

UPDATE 11/13/14: PG&E was able to restore the power pole and Soquel Drive was back open to traffic just before 9p.m. Wednesday night.

11/12/14: Soquel Drive between the intersection of Research Park and north Rodeo Gulch Road remains closed after a vehicle hit a power pole Wednesday morning.

Santa Cruz County Public Works said detours are in place. There is no word on when the road will reopen.

The crash left 3,913 people without power but it was restored at about 5:30 a.m.

PG&E is still working on making repairs on the power pole.
