Prunedale man killed in early Wednesday morning crash

A 67-year-old man died early Wednesday after his car rolled over off Highway 101 near Middle Avenue.

The man, whose name has not yet been released, was driving a gray 2002 Honda Accord coupe on southbound 101 at an unknown speed.

The California Highway Patrol says he collided into a shallow embankment followed by a chain link perimeter fence. The car then rolled over and landed on its roof.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
